Hej! Hello there!
My name is Joakim and I come from Sweden. I´m a language nerd and used to work as a teacher in Sweden before I moved to Thailand, one year ago. Since then I´ve been teaching the Swedish language here on Preply.
If you´re looking for fun classes and learn how to speak Swedish fluent and in a confident way , then I´m your guy! We will focus on speaking, understandning and grammar. I will also tell you about the Swedish culture and how to integrate and speak to the native speakers.

I wanted to wait until I had done quite a few lessons with Joakim before leaving a review, because I often find people perform their best in the beginning and then slowly become their usual self. In Joakim's case, his usual self is the best teacher I have ever had. He is so kind, patient, understanding and fun to talk to. He constantly adjusts lessons on the fly to suit my needs and is always finding fun and interesting ways to help me improve my Swedish. If you are even considering learning Swedish, I highly recommend him.

My specialties
Basic grammar and the ability to speak and understand the Swedish language, from basic conversation to counting and pronunciation.
We focus on speaking, listening and understanding. For example I let the student describe a picture for me and speak without reading a text, or we chose a subject together and discuss it. Focus on pronunciation and how to build up sentences.
We step it u a bit and try to get more fluent in the language - Speaking, listening, every day talk, Common expressions, even some slang or the way a native swede speaks.
Focus on phrases used in business situations such as office, e-mailing and how to speak to customers in a very formal way.
Reading, understanding grammar and the context.
