About me

Hello! My name is Rhuana and I'm from Recife, Brazil.

I love literature, cinema, TV series, music… I also love to travel, to know new cultures, new languages…

Portuguese is my first language, but I also speak French, English and a bit of Spanish.

If you want to learn Brazilian Portuguese, to improve your skills in this language or if you are interested in Brazilian culture, I can help you.

But if you are looking for a French teacher, I am also prepared to help you achieve your goals.

I have a Languages degree (Portuguese and French) from the Universidade Federal de Pernambuco and I did a postgraduate course in Applied Linguistics to Portuguese Language Teaching in the FAFIRE. I also had the opportunity to study Didactics for Languages for six months in the Université Sorbonne Nouvelle, in Paris.

Since 2011, I work as a teacher of Portuguese (as first and foreign language) and French and I’ve had experiences in schools, language courses, online lessons… So I have a large experience teaching both of them and I had the opportunity to teach students with different levels, profiles and goals. My lessons are dynamic, fun and prepared according to the student's objective and interests. Also, I believe that sociocultural aspects are extremely important in the process of learning a language, since it is, above all, social. Therefore, these aspects will be always present in our lessons.

before Rhuana, I tried to learn French with native speakers but it’s hard since they don’t know the difficulties we have as Portuguese native speakers, and she does. I am feeling like I am really learning French with her now, I even started to communicate and create easy phrases. She is a really good, patient and kind teacher. The lessons have a dynamic flow that makes everything more fun, with reading, speaking and exercises to do at home.
